A Place To Be is a growing neighborhood in Madeira for families who homeschool, unschool, or simply want to raise their children in freedom. We’re building a place for those who value nature, connection, community, and sovereignty—whether you're into homesteading, Bitcoin, or just done with the system.

Since securing the land in January 2025, we’ve been slowly bringing it to life—clearing space, visiting regularly with friends, and getting a feel for what wants to emerge here. The official land purchase will be completed in mid-August, and we’re now ready to start welcoming more aligned families into the process.

APTB Is Part of a Bigger Vision

We’ve partnered with Citadel Garden, a project that shares our values and is building villages for freedom-minded families across the world. APTB will be the second village in their network—the first is opening soon in Istria, Croatia, and future neighorhoods are being explored in Italy, Namibia, and Vietnam.

Through this partnership, families who join now will not only help shape APTB in Madeira, but also gain access to the entire Citadel village network as it grows.

How to Get Involved

Right now, the way to become part of APTB is by joining Citadel Garden as a shareholder. This gives you the ability to stay, live, or invest in any of the villages—starting with ours in Madeira.
