You’d like to join the club?
APTB is a private club and we’re going to start it with a maximum of 21 families. Once we have secured the land in Spring 2024, we will open the payment process for the families on the waiting list. 7-14 days later, we will open our doors so that our members can spend the days there using basic facilities as we won’t have building persmission until later this year.
What you’ll be able to enjoy in the beginning:
SPACE: 100.000 m2 piece of green land with view over Funchal and the ocean
COMPANY: Kids of all ages, dedicated Partners and cool families
BLOCKS: several container buildings which offer books, board games, tools, tables, chairs, musical instruments, crafting material and more
COWORKING: container building with tables, chairs, electricity and internet
ANIMALS: Chickens, guinea pigs, dog, cats and goats
RESTROOMS: off-grid toilets and washroom

Our rates
Full membership
For families with at least one child over 4 years old.
One-time sign up fee per family: 4000 Euros.
EARLY BIRD (before we open our doors): 2500Euros.
Monthly fee: Your first and second child pay 750 Euros per month and every other child 500 Euros per month.* You stop paying the fee for your kids when they reach their 18th birthday. After that they can continue coming without charge.
What’s included? All our facilities and services except for lodging and certain workshops/retreats.
*will increase by 5% each year due to inflation.
Youngster’s Club
For families with ALL children under 4 years old.
One-time sign up fee per family: 2000 Euros.
EARLY BIRD (before we open our doors): 1000Euros.
Monthly fee per family: 150 Euros.*
What’s included? All our facilities and services except for lodging, childcare and certain workshops/retreats. All kids under 4 need to be supervised by the parent or another caretaker. Once your oldest child turns 4, you’ll start paying 750Euros** per month for him/her and the 150 Euros family fee is waived.

Do I have to pay even when we’re not using the facilities?
No, you only pay for the months that you spend at APTB. If you decide to be away for 3 months for example, you don’t pay during this time. Paid monthly fee and sign up fee are non-refundable once you´ve started your stay.
Can I pay the sign up fee in instalments?
No, we don’t offer payment plans.
Do you have discounted prices for locals?
Yes, we do give 5 Madeiran families with a low income the chance to register for a one-time 350 Euros sign up fee and paying 350 Euros per child per month.
Our kids go to school. We’re thinking about unschooling them and would like to experience what it’s like to be in such an environment. Can we do a trial phase?
No. We’re a unschooling community and all of our member’s children don’t go to school and have not for at least 2 years. We recommend to research unschooling and experience it with your family before entolling at APTB.
