We love Bitcoin

The more Rob dove into Bitcoin and I explored and practiced unschooling, the more we noticed the deep parallels between the two.

At their core, both are about freedom of choice—the freedom to decide what to do with our money, our time, and how we live and learn.

Unschooling supports children in becoming their own authority—trusting their inner compass rather than relying on external systems to define what, when, or how they should learn. Bitcoin offers a similar kind of sovereignty: it gives us full control over our money, free from central manipulation.

Bitcoin is decentralized, meaning no single person or institution controls it. The supply can’t be inflated at will, and anyone can run a node to help secure the network. In contrast, fiat currencies are centralized and influenced by governments and central banks through mechanisms like inflation and interest rates.

Just as Bitcoin is the only truly decentralized currency, we see unschooling as a form of decentralized education—where learning is driven from within, not imposed from the top down.

That said, APTB isn’t only for Bitcoiners. We welcome families from all walks of life and fully support freedom of choice when it comes to how you pay—whether in BTC or fiat. But you can definitely expect to meet quite a few Bitcoin families here! 😊

Some of them are featured below—friends and fellow Bitcoiners who have helped shape and support APTB along the way.
