The more Rob studied Bitcoin while I studied and practiced unschooling, the more we found parallels between the two.

What we’re after when using Bitcoin as a currency and unschooling as our way of living and educating ourselves (that of course includes our daughters) is the freedom to choose what to do with our money and time.

We want our children to be their own authority and Bitcoin also gives us self authority over our money. No one can manipulate the supply of bitcoin and everyone can run a node protecting the network.

Bitcoin is decentralised. This means there is no one person or organisation controlling it.

Fiat currencies can be influenced by central banks or governments, with tools such as inflation and interest rates applied to impact its value.

This being said, Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency that is decentralised.

Unschooling could be called decentralised education.

We’d like to make clear that APTB is not ONLY for Bitcoiners and we give everyone the freedom to choose whether to pay and be paid in BTC or fiat money. But be sure that many bitcoin families will be hanging out at APTB ;-)
