Project design submitted

Today our architect submitted the final project design to the municipality in Machico.

This is a big milestone, because now the countdown is running. By law, they have three months to reply. Once we've got a yes, our civil engineer will submit his design for the infrastructure, and again, they'll have a three month window to respond.

Here's how the process works: the city hall will review the design and consult three or four different departments to confirm we've followed all the rules and guidelines. Our architect has already double-checked with each of those departments, tourism, forestry and nature, fire and safety, and so on, to make sure his design meets their requirements. Because of that groundwork, we're hoping the review goes quickly and we hear back even before the three month deadline.

Let's see.

Now, let's take a look at the design itself.

What’s included in the design

  • 48 houses (7 x 1 bedroom, 30x 2 bedroom and 11x 3 bedroom houses)

  • 120m2+ large woodworking shed

  • restaurant, coworking space, spa with sauna and indoor pool, gym and other community amenities

  • 9 other community structures

  • 2 XL green houses
